The City of Santa Clarita offers fast-track permitting to facilitate business development. The Planning, Engineering, and Building Safety divisions of the city’s Department of Community Development will also provide technical assistance and guidance through the CEQA process.
The city has adopted procurement policies that include a 10 percent price preference for recycled-content products, reusable products as alternatives to disposable products, and products designed to be recycled.
The College of the Canyons Employee Training Institute provides customized training and retraining programs for employees of businesses. The city will consider one year deferral of local development fees as an incentive to retain or attract business. The city’s entitlement of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds can be made available to businesses if the resulting economic development activity meets CDBG national objectives. Southern California Edison offers reduced utility rate incentives to new customers locating businesses within the RMDZs that meet Edison’s "economic development rate" requirements.
