Recycling Service Concerns

Did you know that California law requires businesses to arrange for recycling services? While there are a variety of materials commonly recycled including cardboard, paper, plastics, and metals, programs are expanding to include many additional organic materials such as food waste, green waste, landscape and pruning waste, nonhazardous wood waste, and food-soiled paper. Multifamily complexes must arrange for recycling services for these materials with the exception of food waste and food-soiled paper. These efforts will help the state meet its goal for recycling or composting 75 percent of its waste.

You can help get a workplace, apartment building, multifamily complex, restaurant, or other business in compliance with the recycling and composting laws.

Please note this form is specifically for submitting concerns regarding the lack of recycling services at apartment complexes or businesses. The links to your left are available to submit feedback and concerns about other materials and recycling programs.
