This message is being forward by CalRecycle on behalf of the California Department of Water Resources
The Department of Water Resources is offering California homeowners two rebate programs, one for turf replacement and the installation of water efficient landscaping, and another for high-efficiency toilets.
The Turf program will rebate up to $2 per square foot for lawn replacement with water-efficient landscaping, including mulch on exposed surface areas, and has an overall budget of $24 million from Proposition 1 funding. The easiest way to complete the application is online at www.SaveOurWaterRebates.com. More information on the program can be found at the website.
Funding reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis for up to $2,000 per household. In areas which already have a local rebate program that offers less than the state rebate amount, the state rebate can be used to supplement the local program. See the web site for more details.
The High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate has also started. Rebates of up to $100 per household are available to consumers to replace one old toilet (greater than 1.6 gallons per flush) with a new, high-efficiency toilet (1.28 gallons per flush or less). The $6 million toilet rebate program, also funded through Proposition 1, will help Californians replace approximately 60,000 old, inefficient toilets. These rebates are also available at the www.SaveOurWaterRebates.com.
