NEW STATUTE
Public Resources Code Section 14549.3, was enacted by AB 2530 (Gordon, Chapter 861, Statutes of 2016). On or before March 1, 2018, and annually thereafter, AB 2530 requires a manufacturer of a beverage sold in California, subject to the California Redemption Value (CRV), to report to CalRecycle under penalty of perjury, the amount of virgin plastic and postconsumer recycled plastic used by the manufacturer for plastic beverage containers during the previous calendar year.
To collect input effectively and to allow exchange among interested parties, the Department held an informal workshop on December 12, 2016, to discuss plastic beverage container production content issues. The presentation can be found here: http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/Actions/Documents%5c111%5c20162016%5c1779%5cPlastic%20Content.pdf and a recording of the workshop can be found here: http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/broadcast/video/vodplayer/?id=53
