May 17th, 2024 SB 54 Advisory Board meeting, Remote Board Member Attendance
Pursuant to the Bagley-Kene Open Meeting Act [Government Code 11123.5 (c)], CalRecycle is providing at least 24-hour notice that the following advisory board members will be attending the advisory board meeting remotely:
Erin Levine, Resource Recovery Manager-West of World Centric, Representative of a manufacturer that produces third-party certified compostable covered material
Neil S. Edgar, Executive Director of California Compost Coalition, Representative of a composting industry operating in the State of California
Shane Buckingham, EPR Program Planning Lead for Circular Action Alliance, Representative from a producer responsibility organization
Tedd Ward, Director of Del Norte Waste Management Authority, Nominated by a Statewide Rural County Association
Wes Carter, President & Co-Founder of Atlantic Packaging Corp, Representative of a manufacturer of covered materials
Rachel Michelin, President & Chief Executive Officer of the California Retailers Association, Representative from a statewide association representing the retail sector
On May 17, 2024, CalRecycle will host the first Advisory Board meeting for the implementation of SB 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022).
This meeting will include:
- Discussion of Advisory Board Charter
- Update from CalRecycle on Timelines for Regulations and Needs Assessment
- Update from the Producer Responsibility Organization
- Discussion of Process for Formulating Recommendations Regarding Barriers and Solutions to a Circular Economy, Consistent with SB 54
- Update on Efforts to Define “Administrative Support”
