An updated version of CalRecycle’s Edible Food Recovery Capacity Planning Calculator Tool has been published on the website.

Below is a summary of the changes:
Read Me tab
Added context to clarify purpose of Step 5c (see row 42) – “In the second table of Step 5, users can record details of new food recovery organizations, existing organizations with potential new capacity, or organizations that are anticipating a reduction in capacity due to facility closures or other reasons.”
Edible Food Disposed tab
Correction was made to unhide the rows and give users the opportunity to complete optional Step 4b.
Edible Food Capacity Details tab
Added context to Step 5a (see row 24) – “Step 5a of the tool is intended to factor in the details of existing edible food recovery capacity for each food recovery organization that is still available and not already occupied.”
Summary tab
Added context (see row 10) – “This tab also provides a summary of projected edible food capacity as entered in STEP 5a and STEP 5c of the "Edible Food Capacity Details" tab and calculates the difference between estimated disposal and existing food recovery capacity.” Calculation formula for the Total Current Edible Food Capacity Accepted of each Recovered Edible Food Type (cells G25-29) was updated to reflect pounds per year.
