#### Covered Electronic Waste Recycling Fee Adjustment ####
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) has posted a Public Notice recommending that California’s covered electronic waste recycling fee be adjusted from its current level. The notice can be found at:

The covered electronic waste recycling fee, paid by consumers at the point of retail purchases of new covered electronic devices, funds various provisions of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003, including the covered electronic waste recycling program and associated regulatory oversight. Based on an analysis of expenditure projections, revenues, and fund balance, CalRecycle staff has proposed adjusting the fee levels from the current levels of $5, $6, and $7 per device (depending on screen size) to $4, $5, and $6, maintaining the screen size structure of current regulation.
Pursuant to statute, actions associated with the covered electronic waste recycling fee must be made as part of a public hearing on or before August 1. This hearing with be held as an agenda item at the CalRecycle public monthly meeting on June 18, 2019. The public notice and full agenda for that meeting can be found at:

Any determined fee changes would take effect January 1, 2020.
#### Manufacturer Reports Due July 1 ####
As a courtesy advisory, the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) reminds manufacturers of covered electronic devices (CEDs) sold in California that the annual Manufacturer Report is due on or before July 1, 2019. More information about the Manufacturer Report requirement can be found on the CalRecycle website at:

Separately, CalRecycle staff will be directly contacting CED manufacturers based on CalRecycle records and lists of contacts compiled from other state programs. CalRecycle recognizes contacts change and is taking steps to ensure courtesy notices reach the proper officials.
