Dear Sir or Madam:
If your business, facility, or operation is required to report in RDRS, you will need to start recording required information pursuant to RDRS beginning July 1, 2019.
Depending upon reporting entity type, RDRS reporting will commence as soon as October 1, 2019 for the third quarter of 2019 (Jul 1-Sept 30).
On July 8, 2019 from 9:00am – 12:00pm, CalRecycle will conduct a Recycling and Disposal Reporting System (RDRS) – Reporting Requirements Training Workshop as part of its sustained efforts to provide training and outreach activities that will assist the regulated community with achieving regulatory compliance. Businesses, facilities, and operations handling solid waste and/or recyclable material with a reporting obligation are invited to learn about the types of data needing to be submitted to CalRecycle in RDRS on a quarterly basis. This workshop will explain which data your business, facility or operation will need to collect, record, and subsequently report in RDRS. The meeting will be webcast and recorded.
The workshop will take place at the Cal/EPA Building, Coastal Hearing Room (2nd floor) located at 1001 I St., Sacramento, CA 95814. Registration is not required. Participants can view the webcast online by navigating their Web browsers to https://video.calepa.ca.gov/ a few minutes prior to the meeting.
The workshop will cover reporting requirements for the following reporting entity types:
• Food waste self-haulers
• Contract haulers exporting material or sending material to direct land application
• Transfer/processing facilities and operations
• Disposal facilities
• Recycling and composting facilities and operations
• Brokers and transporters
This workshop will not include detailed walkthroughs of the reporting system itself. However, future workshops will be conducted on this specific topic prior to the beginning of the first report submittal date.
RDRS registration should have been completed by May 31. For guidance on whether or not your business, facility, or operation is required to register, as well as guidance on how to register, please refer to the “Do I need to register in RDRS?” tool at the following URL: tinyurl.com/rdrs-tool.
