New materials and packaging continue to be introduced into the California marketplace, with significant implications for the state’s resource recovery infrastructure. CalRecycle staff will present findings from several research contracts focused on bioplastics and discuss management of plastic packaging at end of life to help meet California’s statewide goal of 75% source reduction, recycling, and composting by 2020.
