A Review of the proposed permit package indicates the following changes: 

  • Increase the permitted facility boundary 20.53 acres to 120.21 acres to include adjacent property acquired as a buffer to the active landfill and for use as a source of cover soil and ultimate conversion to a drainage basin;
  • Adjust the disposal footprint by 0.10 acres as a result of a waste study, which determined the actual disposal footprint to be 14.1 acres rather than the currently permitted 14 acres;
  • Increase the maximum days and hours of operation to seven days per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m,. to no earlier than 6:00 a.m. to no later than 5:00 p.m. (excluding county holidays); and
  • Increase in the permitted disposal capacity from 1,002,819 cubic yards to 1,057,000 will increase the estimated life span of the landfill from 2037 to 2048.
