Summary

Every two years, pursuant to the Electronic Waste Recycling Act, CalRecycle must review and consider the adequacy of covered electronic waste (CEW) recovery and recycling payments rates. The rates established by CalRecycle are intended to be sufficient to cover the average net costs of collecting and processing CEW. CalRecycle uses historical cost information reported by CEW program participants, such as net cost reports, as well other inputs to determine what the rates should be. CalRecycle must establish any rate changes by July 1, 2016.
