Summary

CalRecycle continues to seek stakeholder feedback with a series of eight special-topic workshops on issues that emerged during general workshops on AB 901 Reporting held in April and July. AB 901 requires recycling, composting and disposal facilities, as well as exporters, broker and transporters of recyclables or compost to report to CalRecycle the types, quantities and destinations of materials sold, transferred or disposed in the state.

Workshop Details: All workshops will be discussion-based.

Please Register for your workshops of choice below, and indicate in registration if you will be attending in person.

Monday, Aug 22. Coastal Room:

  1. 1:00-3:00pm Thresholds (2 hours) – Help CalRecycle determine relevant thresholds for having to report, reporting each material stream, for aggregating End User information, and for defining between the categories of mixed recyclables and mixed waste.
  2. 3:00-5:00pm Organics management (2 hours) – Requirements for composters and organics recyclers, including issues around anaerobic digesters, PTOWs, land application, and more.

Tuesday, Aug 23. Sierra Room:

  1. 9:00-10:30am Penalties, fees and enforcement procedures (1.5 hour)

  2. 10:30am-12:00pm Multiple Operations (1.5 hour)

  3. 1:00-3:00pm Jurisdictional requests and confidentiality (2 hours)

  4. 3:00-5:00pm Methodologies for Jurisdiction of Origin and Source Sector (2 hours)

Wednesday Aug 24. Coastal Room:

  1. 1:00-3:00pm Targeted products and material types (2 hours)

  2. 3:00-5:00pm General topics (2 hours)
