On February 3, 2017, the San Bernardino County Public Health, Environmental Health Services, granted a waiver of standards for the Big Bear Transfer Station for a period of 120 days, due to limited access from recent storms which has resulted in Governor Brown issuing an Emergency Declaration for San Bernardino County. The recent storms caused road closures and a disruption in the removal of solid waste from the facility.
