CalRecycle is soliciting applications for a representative in the solid waste industry stakeholder category of the mattress recycling organization (MRO) advisory committee. Please see the attached solicitation letter for instructions on how to apply and for more information. Applications are due by August 27, 2018. 

As required by The Used Mattress Recycling and Recovery Act (Chapter 388, Statutes of 2013), the Director of CalRecycle appointed members of an advisory committee to be part of the MRO in March 2014. 

Per Public Resources Code Section 42987(a)(3) the role of the advisory committee is to provide consultation to the MRO and to prepare a report that includes a summary of the consultative process between the advisory committee and the MRO during the development of the MRO’s plan, and relating to the ongoing implementation of the plan, as well as any other information deemed pertinent by the advisory committee to maximizing the recovery and recycling of used mattresses in the state.
