Preliminary review of the permit package indicates the following proposed changes: Increase the final elevation from 385 feet mean sea level to 500 feet mean sea level; Increase in total design capacity from 14.64 million cubic yards to 28.29 million cubic yards; Update the permitted disposal area from 202.5 acres to 150.1 acres; Update the maximum depth from 10 feet above highest groundwater to 5 feet above highest groundwater; Update the estimated closure date from 2023 to 2050; Add mattresses to the recycling activities and cannabis waste to special handling; and minor updates to the Joint Technical Document. There will be no changes to the total permitted area, daily tonnage, or hours of operation.
