On April 1, 2020, the Kern County Environmental Health Division, Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) granted an emergency waiver of the permitted daily tonnage, traffic volume and waiver to accept mixed municipal solid waste due to the emergency resulting from Covid-19. Operator requested an extension on July 27, 2020. LEA approved the extension on July 31, 2020. Operator requested an extension on November 16, 2020. The LEA approved the extension on November 23, 2020. On March 23, 2021, the operator requested a third extension. On March 23, 2021, the LEA approved the extension until July 21, 2021.
