On May 21, 2020, the City of San Diego Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agency (LEA), granted an emergency waiver of the hours of operation until September 18, 2020, due to the emergency resulting from COVID-19.   On August 21, 2020, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until December 9, 2020.   On December 4, 2020, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until March 9, 2021.  On March 8, 2021, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until June 8, 2021.  On June 8, 2021, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until September 10, 2021.  On September 14, 2021, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until January 9, 2022.  On December 29, 2021, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until April 22, 2022.  On April 21, 2022, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until August 21, 2022.  On August 17, 2022, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until December 19, 2022.  On January 4, 2023, the LEA granted an extension of the emergency waiver until May 4, 2023.  On February 17, 2023, the LEA determined that the emergency waiver will be terminated on February 28, 2023.
