Statute (Chapter 388, Statutes of 2013) requires the director of CalRecycle to appoint members of an advisory committee to be part of the mattress recycling organization. CalRecycle is soliciting applications from local government representatives for appointment to the Mattress Advisory Committee, specifically a representative from a rural jurisdiction.

Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 42987(a)(3)(C)(i)-(ii) the role of the Advisory Committee is to provide consultation to the mattress recycling organization during the development of mattress stewardship plans, annual reports, and annual budgets. The Advisory Committee also is required to prepare a report summarizing the consultative process between the Advisory Committee and the mattress recycling organization.
