On January 11, 2023, the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), the Enforcement Agency (EA) for Santa Cruz County, granted an emergency waiver of the permitted tonnage, hours of operation, types of solid waste, and storage time limits before transfer or processing of nonhazardous solid waste until May 11, 2023, due to the emergency resulting from the severe winter storms throughout the state.
