The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding an informal public workshop to solicit feedback from the public, the regulated community, and other interested persons on concepts for regulations to prescribe processes for the registration of dealers and the application, registration, and operation of dealer cooperatives. The purpose of the regulations being developed is to implement, make specific, and clarify Public Resources Code sections 14510.2, 14578 and 14578.5 that were added to the California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act by SB 1013 (Atkins, Ch. 610, Statutes of 2022).
CalRecycle will hold the hybrid public workshop starting at 9:00 am on April 25th, 2023, to solicit stakeholder feedback on this matter. The public workshop will be a hybrid in-person and virtual workshop accessible at the Coastal Hearing Room located on the second floor of the CalRecycle headquarters at 1001 I Street, Sacramento, California. The Coastal Hearing Room is wheelchair accessible. The public workshop will also be accessible virtually via Zoom for direct participation and via Webcast for observation only. Instructions for how to access the Zoom meeting (registration required) or Webcast (no registration required) are included below.
At the public workshop, CalRecycle will be presenting an overview of concepts being developed to implement the dealer registration and dealer cooperatives components of SB 1013. A copy of the presentation slides will be posted in advance of the workshop to give stakeholders time to review the content. There will be opportunities for stakeholders to provide verbal feedback during the workshop. CalRecycle requests feedback to be focused on the specific components of SB 1013 being discussed.
Location to Attend In-Person: Coastal Hearing Room, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 (check-in required at front of building)
