This item presents staff’s analysis of The Drug Takeback Solutions Foundation’s (The Foundation) 2024 annual program budget for its stewardship program for covered drugs submitted May 31, 2023. 

Public Resources Code section 42033.2 requires a program operator to submit, on or before March 31 of each year, a complete annual program budget for its stewardship program.  

CalRecycle determined The Foundation's 2024 annual program budget (initially submitted March 31, 2023) incomplete on April 28, 2023. The Foundation was required to revise and resubmit its 2024 annual program budget to CalRecycle within 30 days from the date of receipt of CalRecycle’s completeness determination (i.e., by May 31, 2023).  

CalRecycle has 90 days from the date of receipt of a complete annual program budget to review and adopt a finding of approval, conditional approval, or disapproval.
