The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding an informational session to introduce AB 2440 The Responsible Battery Act and provide an overview of California’s rulemaking process. The Responsible Battery Recycling Act of 2022 (AB 2440, Irwin, Chapter 351, Statutes of 2022) requires producers, either individually or through the creation of one or more stewardship organizations, to establish a stewardship program for the collection and recycling of covered batteries. Participants will receive an overview of the law's provisions and will be given the opportunity to ask questions.
CalRecycle will hold the hybrid public informational session starting at 10:00 AM on October 18, 2023. The public informational session will be a hybrid in-person and virtual session, accessible in person in the Byron Sher Auditorium, 2nd Floor, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95914.
