The Used Mattress Recovery and Recycling Act requires the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to review and update as necessary, the mattress stewardship program baselines and goals every four years beginning July 1, 2020 (by July 1, 2024).

 The purpose of this workshop is to review the baselines and goals and solicit public comments and input for consideration as part of the review process and potential updates. An agenda and supporting documents for this workshop will be posted in the “Documents” section when available. 

Background 

The Used Mattress Recovery and Recycling Act required the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery to establish, in consultation with the mattress recycling organization, the state mattress recycling baseline amount and the state mattress recycling goals by January 1, 2018. CalRecycle reviewed and updated the baselines and goals in 2020.
