Overview

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding a virtual informational webinar session designed to provide interested parties with information on how to report, assess California Refund Value (CRV), and handle new beverage containers recently added to the California Beverage Container Recycling Program effective on January 1, 2024.

A future informal rulemaking workshop will be held during Winter 2023/2024 to share our progress on regulations to implement the addition of new CRV beverage container types as authorized under SB 1013 (Atkins, Chapter 610, Statutes of 2022).

Request for Public Feedback

At the October 24, 2023 webinar, CalRecycle will be presenting an overview of the new beverage containers added to the program and impacts to the participants of the Beverage Container Recyling Program.  There will be opportunities for the public to provide feedback during the workshop.  CalRecycle requests feedback to be focused on the specific topics that will be presented.  At CalRecycle's discretion, comments may be limited to keep the discussion aligned with the subject matter and to ensure we give interested parties the opportunity to participate within the time allotted.  To facilitate this, we encourage you to send your written comments or questions, in advance, by sending an email to BCRPSB1013@calrecycle.ca.gov with the subject line "Addition of New Beverage Containers to the BCRP".
