CalRecycle will hold a public workshop on November 1, 2023,
to solicit public feedback regarding the feasibility of collecting products
that are not acceptable compost feedstocks under the National Organic Program (NOP)
separately from organic wastes that are acceptable under the National Organic
Program as described in Section 42357(g)(1)(B) to the Public
Resources Code (PRC).
CalRecycle has developed a discussion paper that will be discussed
during the workshop. The discussion paper presents the data that CalRecycle has
compiled to help determine if it would be feasible to collect and process products
that are not acceptable under the NOP separately from other organic waste. Interested
parties that have additional data should provide that data during the workshop
or via email at Organics@CalRecycle.ca.gov by November 8, 2023.
