Public Resources Code section 42972(a)(7) requires Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) to include in its carpet stewardship plan a contingency plan that describes how program activities would be carried out by the department through some other entity, such as an escrow company, should the plan expire without approval of a new plan or should the plan be revoked.
CARE submitted a revised Contingency Plan Amendment and a separate Training Guide on June 3, 2024, in response to the Notice of Conditional Approval signed by CalRecycle’s director on April 4, 2024. CalRecycle’s director has 60 days to approve, conditionally approve, or disapprove CARE’s revised Contingency Plan Amendment (by August 2, 2024).
