This item presents staff’s analysis of MED-Project’s
proposed changes to its stewardship plan for covered drugs, submitted November
8, 2024, regarding its reasonable geographic spread of authorized collection
sites. This submittal contained information asserted to be confidential, trade secret, and proprietary.
Public Resources Code section 42032(e) and Title 14 of the
California Code of Regulations section 18973.1(i) require a program operator to
submit any significant changes to a stewardship plan in writing to CalRecycle
for approval prior to implementation.
On January 17, 2025, MED-Project notified CalRecycle it removed confidentiality claims from its proposed changes submitted November 8, 2024, specifically information contained in its proposed changes covered letter. MED-Project submitted a copy of this cover letter with the confidentiality provisions removed on February 10, 2025. The redacted and formerly confidential, unredacted cover letter versions submitted on November 8, 2024, and the cover letter submitted on February 10, 2025, are posted in the "Documents" section.
