The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding an informal public workshop to solicit feedback from the public, the regulated community, and other interested persons on adopting regulations to govern bag drop recycling centers and mobile recycling units as authorized by AB 1311 and the California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act (enacted by AB 2020). The purpose of this draft regulatory language is to implement, make specific, and clarify AB 1311, Chapter 506, Statutes of 2021 and AB 2020, Chapter 1290, Statutes of 1986.

At the public workshop CalRecycle will be presenting concepts and draft regulation text that establishes requirements for the operation of bag drop recycling centers and mobile unit extensions for recycling centers.
How to Participate in the Workshop
CalRecycle will hold the hybrid public workshop starting at 1:00 pm, December 16, 2024, to solicit stakeholder feedback on this matter. The public workshop will be a hybrid in-person and virtual workshop, accessible in person in the Byron Sher Auditorium, 2nd floor, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. The auditorium is wheelchair accessible. The public workshop will also be accessible virtually via Zoom for direct participation and via Webcast for observation only.
Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available in-person at the workshop and remotely via Zoom or webcast. For in-person interpretation services, headsets will be available and can be provided by CalRecycle staff prior to or during the workshop.
