This item presents staff’s analysis of The Drug Takeback Solutions Foundation’s (Foundation) proposed changes to its stewardship plan for home-generated sharps waste, submitted July 17, 2025, regarding providing or initiating the distribution of sharps waste containers and mail-back materials at the point of sale, and metrics for its education and outreach program.

Public Resources Code section 42032(e) and Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations section 18973.1(i) require a program operator to submit any significant changes to a stewardship plan in writing to CalRecycle for approval prior to implementation.
