This case study supports responsibilities of the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) under the California Air Resources Board Scoping Plan to address greenhouse gas emissions through an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) approach. Specifically, this study assesses the energy and greenhouse gas implications of using different end-of-life management methods for mattresses and box springs.
