Case study

This case study supports responsibilities of the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) under the California Air Resources Board Scoping Plan to address greenhouse gas emissions through an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) approach. For several types of plastic resins with recycled polymer content, this document provides estimates of the distance between the point of collection and point of reprocessing at which recycling no longer generates greenhouse gas emission savings.
