This report was prepared under a contract from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). This life cycle assessment was requested by the Legislature to provide a comprehensive environmental profile of the management system for all of the used oil generated in California. The findings will allow CalRecycle to provide suggestions to the Legislature regarding possible policy changes to promote increased collection and responsible management of used oil in the state.
