The processing fee and handling fee cost surveys were performed under contract by Crowe Horwath LLP (Crowe), for the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). This Processing Fee Final Report provides estimates of the cost per ton to recycle aluminum, bi-metal, glass, and plastic (for seven different resin types) beverage containers. This report also summarizes tasks that Crowe, and their subcontractors, conducted in order to obtain the final, statewide, weighted-average, processing fee recycler costs per ton. Finally, this report provides analyses of results of this processing fee cost survey.
