This report produced under contract for CalRecycle summarizes recent efforts to identify and locate occurrences of illegal tire dumping near the southern California-Mexico border. Presented in the report are CalRecycle Grant programs and state regulations related to tire transport and disposal including disposal options, results of agency interviews, results of field inspections of reported illegal tire dumping sites, and a summary of the investigation findings. The area of investigation was constrained to the border region in southern California from the Pacific Ocean eastward to the Arizona border, and up to 100 kilometers (63 miles) north of the southern California-Mexico border.
