One-Pound Propane Cylinder Market Analysis and Support (DRR25048)

The One-Pound and Other Covered Propane Cylinder Market Analysis and Support contract is designed to 1) provide research on current market conditions for covered propane cylinders, 2) gather information about the availability of refillable covered cylinders, the infrastructure existing and needed to achieve the law’s requirements and 3) conduct extensive outreach to educate affected interested parties about the new requirements. The Contractor will be responsible for providing the necessary technical resources, collecting data, conducting analysis, and making recommendations to support the implementation of a system of reusable or refillable covered cylinders in California. Through this contract, the Contractor will assist CalRecycle staff to make product by product determinations regarding their use and durability, as well as assessing the infrastructure necessary for the convenient and safe refilling of covered cylinders for multiple cycles. Development of education and outreach materials for consumers, retailers, influencers, social media, and other interested parties regarding the purchase, use, transport, maintenance, and safe refilling of covered cylinders will also be required. The expertise required from various disciplines necessitates that the Contractor assemble a team of experienced and respected consultants to provide the necessary assistance. Members of the Contractor’s team must be highly knowledgeable of the propane market, propane cylinder infrastructure, data collection and analysis, and developing education and outreach materials.
