The Used Mattress Recovery and Recycling Act required CalRecycle to establish, in consultation with the mattress recycling organization, the state mattress recycling baseline amount and the state mattress recycling goals on or before January 1, 2018 (see more information on our baseline and goals webpage). By July 1, 2020, CalRecycle is required to review, including reviewing for consistency with Public Resources Code (PRC) Section 41780.01, and update as necessary, the state mattress recycling baseline amount and goals. The staff recommendation for consideration of the Proposed 2020 State Mattress Recycling Baseline and Goals follows a Public Workshop on the topic that CalRecycle held on 3/9/2020.
