These items present staff’s analysis of The Drug Takeback Solutions Foundation’s (The Foundation) 2022 annual reports and 2024 annual program budgets for its covered drugs and home-generated sharps waste stewardship programs*, submitted March 31, 2023. 

Public Resources Code section 42033.2 requires a program operator to submit, on or before March 31 of each year, a complete annual report and a complete annual program budget for its stewardship program(s). CalRecycle has 30 days from the date of receipt to determine if a submitted annual report and annual program budget are complete and notify the submitting program operator. CalRecycle has 90 days from the date of receipt of a complete annual report and a complete annual program budget to review the documents and adopt findings of approval, conditional approval, or disapproval. 

Supporting documents for The Foundation's 2022 annual report for home-generated sharps waste will be posted in the “Documents” section in advance of the June 20, 2023, Public Meeting.

*CalRecycle determined The Foundation's 2022 annual report for covered drugs and its 2024 annual program budgets for covered drugs and home-generated sharps waste incomplete on April 28, 2023. The Foundation is required to revise and resubmit its 2022 annual report for covered drugs and 2024 annual program budgets for covered drugs and home-generated sharps waste to CalRecycle within 30 days from the date of receipt of CalRecycle's completeness determination (i.e., by May 31, 2023). CalRecycle has 90 days from the date of receipt of a complete annual report and annual program budgets to review and adopt a finding of approval, conditional approval, or disapproval.
