Overview: 

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will hold a public information session on April 6, 2026, to present information on the recent Needs Assessment publications of the SB 54 Statewide Needs Assessment and methodology and findings related to source reduction goals including reuse and refill. CalRecycle staff will present on the following reports Current State of Source Reduction, An Analysis of Actions and Investments Needed to Achieve Source Reduction and selected portions of the Consumer Education and Access report as it relates to reuse and refill.

Public Participation: 

The publications to be discussed (linked above) are posted on CalRecycle’s Needs Assessment webpage. Interested parties can access and review the content in advance. There will be opportunities for the public to ask questions and provide comments during the information session. CalRecycle requests that questions and comments be focused on the specific topics being discussed.  

 How to Participate in the Information Session: 

CalRecycle will hold the information session starting at 02:00 PM on April 6, 2026. The information session will be a hybrid in-person and virtual meeting. Instructions for how to access the information session are included as follows:

Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available in-person at the workshop and remotely via Zoom or webcast. For in-person interpretation services, headsets will be available and can be provided by CalRecycle staff prior to or during the workshop.
