Results of CIWMB’s demonstration and research project on wine grapes (2000–2002) using compost and mulch from Mendocino County yard trimmings. Discusses phylloxera-infested grapevines that received surface or incorporated compost applications and related root infections. Municipal mulch was also applied to a phylloxera-free vineyard floor on sloping ground in Mendocino County to demonstrate soil erosion control.
