Waste Characterization Business Groups Listing

The following list contains definitions of the Business Groups used in recent CalRecycle waste characterization studies. Since there are many kinds of businesses, we used federal NAICS codes to group them, putting businesses with similar waste streams together, focusing on groups with large employment in California, and separating business types that generate large amounts of organics. The Not Elsewhere Classified group is a "catch all" groups of less similar businesses. Select a Details button to view the list and definitions of the NAICS codes in that group.

The following table was tested using Chrome browser and NVDA.For NVDA users, enable Focus Mode to navigate the following table with selectable items.Or, press the Tab key to enter table and navigate cells using arrow keys.You may also use AudioEye’s Toolbar player that will announce table contents.
